Pennies and Recreation is excited to reveal our first Closet Makeover! First off - we had such a great time working with Kaylee. She is so much fun to style and it was so cool to see her not be too sure of what we were putting together to "wow this looks amazing and I would have NEVER have put this together!"
For this Closet Makeover - we pulled pieces out of her closet that we really loved and saw potential in and placed those with other pieces. Nothing in her makeover was bought - they are all current pieces but we found NEW ways for her to wear them for the fall!
This first look includes one of her hubby's button down shirts =) Yes ladies do not be afraid to venture to your man's side of the closet hehe
We paired it with a pair of pleather leggings and booties and cinched it with a belt. Of course you have to pop the collar and wear a top knot with this look.
This is one of our fav looks on Kaylee. We asked her if she had any cut off shorts and she grabbed this pair that her mom handed down to her. Perfect pair - they are high wasted, worn and ripped - just the way we like them. She can wear this now as pictured below but as it gets cooler pair it with a pair of colored stockings. BTW - Kaylee has had that necklace and NEVER wore it till that night. We changed that real quick and made it a staple piece in her wardrobe.
This outfit includes a black maxi skirt, tribal T and loose cardi sweater. We added brown cowboy boots because well, we are in Texas. No actually it's not because of Texas it's because boots are super cute for fall weather. What I love most about this outfit is how we knotted the maxi skirt at the bottom corner.
And HELLO Boyfriend Jeans! These jeans came from her hubby's side of the closet. She didn't have any bf jeans so to show her how to pull off the look we grabbed a pair of the hubby's. How cute is this look - BF jeans, graphic T, blazer and heels.
We opted for NO belt and told Kaylee to do a side partial tuck.
Well there you have it - our first closet makeover! These were just a couple of our favorite looks that we put together for Kaylee. The three of us had so much fun in the process.
